Commencement 2018 will consist of two ceremonies to be held at 9:30am and 2:30pm, Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Wintrust Arena, 200 East Cermak Rd., Chicago, Illinois 60616. Faculty should arrive at the Wintrust Arena and proceed to the Security Entrance located on 21st and Indiana. Signage will be placed and volunteers will be available to direct you.
Once you have gone through the security screening, you will assemble inside the Wintrust Arena in the designated area Please plan to arrive no later than 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony and allow ample time to go through security screening.
Faculty wishing to attend the Commencement ceremony are expected to be part of the faculty processional. Guest tickets may be available after May 1st, 2018, but on a limited basis. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org after May 1, 2018 for possible availability.
This year we will have two separate ceremonies. Please make sure you are clear on which ceremony will be for your college.
Morning Ceremony Details:

Afternoon Ceremony Details:
Richard J. Daley College, Malcolm X College, Wilbur Wright College

Ceremony Begins: 2:30pm
Please make sure you are in line ready to process out no later than 15 minutes before the start of the ceremony.
There ceremony is expected to last two (2) hours. Make sure that when you arrive to the arena, you have your regalia. Also, due to security screening procedures, no large bags, bag packs or large purses are allowed in the Arena. We will have limited space for your personal belongings as you will be seated on the stage. Please see the Wintrust Arena site for more information regarding security procedures, prohibited items, and the bag and purse policy.

Confirm Your Participation
All full-time faculty are required to participate in the commencement ceremony in one of two ways. You can either walk in the procession wearing graduation regalia, or you can be a member of the commencement production team the day of the ceremony. If a faculty member plans to walk in the procession, he/she must confirm participation and you can also rent your regalia at this time, if needed.
Confirm participation and order regalia – Monday, March 5, 2018.
Submit a written request to be excused from the ceremony to the Vice President at their home college* – Monday, April 2, 2018.
* Faculty members who are teaching or determined to be doing college-related work will be excused from participating in commencement. A faculty member who submitted a personal request, and whose request is approved, is required to use a full personal day to cover their absence.
